Smoking Policy

The Smoke-Free Ontario Act and Regulation outlines the specific legislative obligations, prohibitions and requirements for signs prohibiting smoking throughout all enclosed workplaces and enclosed public places over which the Board has control and includes all entrances, exits, washrooms and other appropriate locations in buildings, properties, and schools as defined by the Education Act.

References in this policy to “smoking” includes the use of e-cigarettes.

Smoking is not permitted at any and all schools and workplaces in the London District Catholic School Board or in any vehicles parked on the property.

A student found smoking on school property will be charged by the Tobacco Enforcement Officer, under the Tobacco Control Act, 1994.
