discourse planning video is for any student grade 11 who's heading into grade 12 next year and if they're graduating year hopefully we'll find this video not only helpful and picking your courses but also and doing some about post-secondary pathways what is the things that we always want to reiterate to students is that we want to focus on those future goals knowing that that's your choice and also that that's your responsibility certainly guidance another staffer here to help you along but we want to let you know that you need to take a lead role in selecting these different options and looking at the variety of toddlers that are available to you in order to earn an Ontario secondary school diploma you need to do you have 30 credits many of those credits are required you need to have 40 hours of community service and you need to make sure that you've passed the provincial literacy test or that you've taken the Ontario literacy course this year as of covid-19 students did not write the grade 10 literacy test that is something that the ministry is going to be addressing and will be letting all students know what to what they need to know about moving forward into grade 11 which regards to that literacy require Miss grade 11 year we really want to impress upon you how important your marks are some post-secondary institutions will look at both your grade 11 and 12 marks for entry into their programs all attempted courses in grade 11 12 are recorded on your transcript online courses in Grade 9 and 10 if you have failed a course great nine and ten courses aren't recorded on a transcript if you have retaken the course however grade 11 and 12 marks whether you've passed or the course will be recorded on your transcript like it or not we're all probably heading to the same place at the end which is to the world of work and we want to make sure that you are best prepared for that particular pathway so that's an apprenticeship College University Ron to the world of work guidance wants to work with you and your family to make sure that you're getting to whatever destination is your goal some of you may be graduating next year but you may be contemplating a 50 or completely fine please keep in mind that our board has said that students can earn a maximum of 34 credits we want to make sure that your attendance is going to be consistent in that 50 year and that you have a commitment to an educational plan. that might include upgrading coursework exploring new options or maybe going into Co-op so again 50 is an option to a maximum of 34 credits for students thinking that they're going to be leaving go after grade 12 and heading directly into the world of work keep in mind that there's a lot of programs to help prepare you for that taking Co-op getting some real work experience is a great option computer studies business courses any kind of tech course that might help you also great option make sure they're doing some research so that you know what's available to you in terms of your planning and in terms of job seeking there are some websites on this life that can help but certainly guidance counsellors can help as well if an apprenticeship going into the trades is something you contemplated please consider taking Cobb education and you may even want to register through your Co-op teacher for the interior youth apprenticeship program the hours that you in a related field in Co-op can actually go toward your ear eventual apprenticeship there's no prerequisites to go into an apprenticeship but they do often require very strong math communication and in some cases science skills all employers are responsible for hiring apprentices and there's lots of information on the websites that you can see on this side here to help you get started with that and again your car up teachers your guidance counsellors and even my blueprint can really help you pursue this option of apprenticeship and learn more about it as you enter into your grade 12 year it's super important that you do some research and that doesn't mean just asking people that you know it also means actually how to say you're my blueprint space or other spaces doing some questionnaires assessment tools looking at lots of different internet sites talking to your guidance counsellor you may even want to start visiting campus is doing some job shadowing so you're actually following an employee around someday just to get a sense of what it is that they do at their job might be some part-time work that's available to help you with your research doing some volunteering doing Co-op taking part in our specialist High skills major program we're even doing a dual credit with Fanshawe College at our school in order to get some more information and experience in a particular job sector another great option when you're doing your research is to go into your my blueprints and do some of the surveys that are available there under who am I do you can really help you understand more about how you learn best your personality and what you're likely to be successful in moving forward in this example it shows that this secular student has answered about their learning styles and they learn that their more of a kinesthetic learner After figuring out the type of learner that this student is their personality interest and so on it matches them up with certain jobs are career up that might be a good fit they're a student can actually click on any of these options to figure out what they need to do at a post-secondary level in order to get into one of those jobs are career options if you're pretty sure you what you want to do after high school in terms of a pathway you can also go into your my blueprint space on the dashboard and look it up under post-secondary you can research using programs keyword searches and other filters available in blueprint to find information out about different jobs in this case we put a different filters number one the students decided they liked to go to university specifically in Ontario and they like to look into the area of agriculture in this case the student typed in aviation in order to find out more information and just by typing in aviation they found 68 results of those 68 results you can see that each of the schools and Pro that they have to offer related to that Aviation area come up and you can click on those to find more information once you click on that program you'll notice that you can find information about the program itself the requirements and so a little bit more information about that post-secondary institutions you can also add it to your favourites and that stays recorded in your myblueprint stays so it's easier for you to get back to you later you can also dial this down further to actually figure out what you need from high school in order to get into that program and in this case you can see that you need a grade 12 English at the foreseer for you level and one of the following math courses whether that's the college math a university a function or university level calculus and functions another option is to look up an apprenticeship so depending on what sector you want to know more about you can simply click on that industry sector I found a sector of Interest a bunch of different titles will show up depending on the area of interest in the skilled trades after clicking on the area of interest in this case construction Millwright you can see an overview an outline as well as any requirements there might be in order to become part of this apprenticeship and again you can add this to your favourites or to your profile in my blueprint can you find information about the academics of your future but you can also see what the job outlook is or prospects to get a job in this area depending on the province that you're looking at if you're not really sure if your pathway but you have some idea of an area of interest you can also look under category so again you can see agriculture architecture business and many many more where you can simply click on that and it'll allow you to explore that area work or occupations again under that search bar and actually filter it based on the four categories that you see here Career Cluster the outlook for a job what level of Education you need an estimated salary in this case this individual is looking for job that's between 60 and $90,000 a year with a college diploma degree or certificate that there's a good outlook for employment after graduation and it would be in the area of Health Science one of the options that came up from our search was dental hygienist so what are the future prospects like in Ontario they're quite good 3 stars the other thing that they can tell us is the salary range and again it goes by Providence so you can see the depending on the province you're looking anywhere between $44,000 a year and $87,000 a year once you find a program that's of interest you can look at the requirements and you actually go in and look at different programs available in all of the different provinces and territories in Canada in this case enter dental hygienist lots of great information came up we had 55 results and you can go then and on any of those to find out more information about that program so it is a great way to start from a general idea to move very specifically into a program and then to figure out what you would need from that program or turn me to get into that program from high school there are lots of great websites but these are the two best in terms of planning for University or college so please make note of those and make sure that you're referencing these before you do your course selection as we've mentioned in the past once you submit your courses in February you're locked in and you won't be able to choose a different courses without the assistance of your guidance counsellor if you're thinking of heading to college after grade 12 keep in mind prerequisite courses are required courses vary greatly depending on the program but also on the school sometimes they're looking for things that are non-academic so for example portfolio or auditions possibly in depending on the nature of the program College accept college-level University level and a more mix level courses and sometimes they will also accept old level course but seahorses are the main at Mission requirement please understand that whether your program choice is considered to be competitive or not we want you to do your very best but those competitive programs often require very high average and often students aren't able to get in high school because of the nature of their entrance requirements so it's very important that you have a look at those requirements so that after grade 12 you'll have what you need to get into the program of your choice in some cases programs that the colleges are referred to as highly competitive college programs these are programs where the number of qualified applicants well exceeds the number of seats that are available in those cases you have to make sure that you've applied by the college application deadline is typically February 1st of your grade 12 gear there's lots more information on the Ontario colleges website and on the individual schools website as well you may want to consider another program is it back up because in some cases these highly additive programs very challenging for high school students to get in and often they don't actually expect many high school kids to get in because of the nature of who else is applying for example students have already come out of different University and College programs will be competing with high school students for those spaces so please keep in mind if your program is a highly competitive one you want to make sure that you're making the best choice in your application after grade 12 and of course you need to be aware of that as you're approaching those courses in grade 12 going to college means that you have lots of different choices there are some short-term maybe one year certificate programs their diploma programs that typically lasts two to three years they're all 2 degree programs which require you to have university-level courses from grade 12 there's also collaborative or joint-degree programs between colleges and universities where they work together to create a program we have graduates look at programs co-op programs meeting that you can get work experience and generally speaking this is a paid opportunity at the college or university level and there's also apprenticeship programs that are offered at colleges how to apply to an Ontario College you need to apply in February of your grade 12 year through the Ontario colleges. See a website this website is great not only for application information but also for information about individual images and their programs janitorial colleges.com website is great in that it's kind of a one-stop-shop not only can he use it to apply but you can do a lot of your research there too and includes important dates application fees things of nature but you can also find lots of information about the colleges and their programs and we definitely encourage you to do that on your way into grade 12 so that your best prepared for whatever program you might want after you graduate Ontario colleges website they do have their own videos for in a walk you through a couple of things that you might find interesting if I'm looking for a program I can simply type in a word or a program of interest to me and every related to that in an Ontario College will pop up and I can select from those options once I found a program of interesting I've clicked on it I can get a lot of information but one of the most important things in our planning for grade 12 looking at what those admission requirements are going to be for that post-secondary program admission requirements for this program include graduating from high school with your Ontario secondary school diploma an English at the college and university level a math at the college or university level in grade 12 Chemistry Grade 11 or 12 College of University as well as a physics grade 11 or 12 University or college level so you can imagine knowing that you need these courses after graduating from grade 12 to get in. Really informs your decisions going into this course selection about what you're going to need to pick for some of you you may be contemplating going to University after grapes please keep in mind that you need a minimum of six University or mix level grade 12 courses so that means you have to have a minimum of six for you or for M courses in order to apply to any Ontario University it's really important that you do the research to make sure that you know what those courses have to be but regardless of the program that 6 is that is a requirement no matter what the so again wanting to be informed and making sure that your course elections are in keeping with those requirements are really important keep in mind too that even though you might know what one University requires every University can require different even if they offer the same program so please make sure that you're doing your due diligence and doing your research the Ontario University application centre has a website that's useful as well as Beyond Terry universities info page if you're looking at the Ontario universities info page you'll notice that not only can you find programs but you can also look at the universities and what they have to offer as well as how to apply and look into information about financing your University opportunities as well universities info page also offers a research checklist that we strongly recommend that you use to make sure that you are Forward Thinking about you're going to need to do or what you're going to need to have in place before applying to University if you're doing your research you can Browse by a category and once you've looked through the different categories you may have found a particular program of Interest once you've done that you can click on it or on the University named itself for example we've chosen a food and agriculture Business course the University of Guelph when you go to the over you can see that it's at the University of Guelph you would get a degree with a bachelor of Commerce and at the grade range for this program is between 78 and 82 per cent in that top six you were angry 12 courses looking specifically at the food and agriculture Business program a quality can also look at the requirements requirements for this program are English functions math one additional and three additional four where you were at home courses so they've laid out for you what courses are required then you can see that they're also three that are your choice so that's your next top three for you or for M credits also look up the program admissions information and sometimes it's quite specific discloses when they actually make offers and how they handle individual questions that you might have about admission also contact information for each University and you can get their program website here as well Define highlights the fact that some schools have very specific policies about failed and repeated courses or courses that you taken then I did a school program so that's a summer school night school or maybe as a private school so if that's the case and you have taken some of those courses or you are planning to do that you want to make sure that you know that the school terminate your replying to that this won't be a problem I'm going to give you an example if you were to take say English in a summer school situation some schools do not look favorably on that not all in. but there are those who would prefer that you take that in a day school program by the same token some schools don't mind if you repeat of course and they would take the highest of the two the two credits however some schools will only take your first attack set a course so that's something to really keep in mind as you're entering into grade 12 there's also a great deal of information about the schools themselves so whether that's the school overview the programs admissions campus visits and times that you can go there at information about their residences and meal plans scholarships and so on so all of this can also be found on that interior University simple cage so hopefully I a good job of giving you an introduction to how to use this website but there is a video that you can watch on their website about what's available and how to use the website so if you need a quick review please make sure that you do look at their video about you so you info so please make sure that you finish grade 11 strong not only is important that you earn good marks to get into whatever post-secondary program you want because they may look at those grade 11 marks but it's important that you have the skills and the knowledge from those grade 11 courses in order to be equipped to do well in those grade 12 courses as we going to the next section we're going to talk about course selection specifically remember that your pathway is so important to keep in mind as you're selecting your courses you need to know how many credits in a certain are you might need or what prerequisite courses might be required okay onto our second half of the presentation where we're looking at actually planning our course I'm going into my blueprint my blueprint is now open and available for all students to plan and submit their course choices for next year these course choices are due by February 23rd so all students are expected to take all of their courses and submit them before February 23rd in order to take courses here next year wanted debunk I miss here that sometimes I hear from students so Statesville Town taking a 12-year 12m course because I think it's going to boost my chances of getting in even though I know I'm heading to college if you have the ability to do the university level courses were they am absolutely golf but we certainly want your marks to reflect your true ability so for students who are going into a college program that's requiring Eng foresee or for you but it's definitely for C is an option keep in mind that taking that you level may not be to your advantage because they may not look at it any differently they really are just going to look at the Mark not necessarily the level so for example St Clair College in an a-20 teen version said that course is taking it at advanced level in the old curriculum and course is taking at the college you or unlevel will be treated equally there will not be any grey differential what that means is Demarcus Demarcus what level you took so I'm bringing this up only so that you are aware that if you are applying to a college program that the college English may be the one for you because your Mark will be higher in that and it is an acceptable level to get into program as I hope all of you are aware we have many different high schools major problems at our school 6 in fact and I'm hoping that some of you are already involved in those if you've not already committed to being part of a high skills major we do hope that it's something that you will consider its four students going into every pathway whether that's an apprenticeship college-university or even into the world and the idea is to take a bundling of different courses that are of interest that really showcase your talents and abilities and will lead you toward a specific sector destination After High School very far St Joe's to have a number of high school major programs agriculture on arts and culture High skills major with a focus on Tech theatre Aviation is one that is run centrally at the board office but it's billable to our students and to all students in the London District having school board high schools we have a business High School's major as well as a construction High skills major health and wellness hospitality and coming hopefully high school next year will be a sports focussed specialist High skills major program are five component starting a high skills major in high school it's a bundling of courses which has to include at least two credits of coop in a related sector certifications in training some experiential learning and career exploration options Teresa had experience as well as some activities that are delivered by our sector partners of the community to give you guys some experience in this area there's a recognition for your requirements the form of a special steel that will be on your diploma and you also get certifications different kinds depending on the high skills major that you've been part of are agriculture High skills major is led by mr. Fox and Miss is Obama and the focus here is not just on farming but on agriculture as a whole so it involves business technology ma engineering mechanics science all kinds of aspects and again reaches out to all pathways whether you're headed to College University to the world of work or onto an apprenticeship arts and culture is another one of our high skills Majors with a musical theatre focus and it's not just about becoming an actor is also people behind the scenes doing more of the technical things the sound a lighting maybe construction of the set as the event planning it's the the management of it all so if that is of Interest maybe this arts and culture might be a focus and then program is headed by mrs. Clark and mr. Kara Helios by mr. Howard and for those of you who have any interest at all in going into a construction area weather that's going in Tuesday bricklaying or carpentry maybe it has to do more with heavy equipment operation a sheet metal working welding any of those kinds of things then this might be the high skills major for you and I encourage you to talk with your guidance counsellor or mr. Howard about this program our health this program is led by Mrs lafromboise and it's for anybody who is interested in obviously health and wellness so anything from Kinesiology to being a doctor to being a fitness instructor to being a pharmacist be a lab tech anything like that where we're dealing with people and health and their well-being so I can I encourage it to talk to mrs. lafromboise about this guidance counsellor our hospitality and tourism bicycles majors Mister sharabi body and it it opens up the door like over 400 occupations in tourism jobs all tend to provide lots of opportunity for advancement and so I'd encourage you to look at some of these options talk to mister Share value guidance counsellor of courses including Co-op the avionics program as I mentioned before is run as a central program through the London District Catholic School Board but our students have an opportunity to get involved in in this as well the aviation and Aerospace industry has a lot of demand and lots of career options so whether you're looking at being more of an aircraft technician electrical radionics mechanic maybe you want to be a pilot mechanical engineer maybe you're looking more at like an airport grounds crew or airport Administration whatever it might be a deviation might be for you keep in mind that one major credit that's required for this program is credit course with Fanshawe College to their Aviation program and your guidance counsellor would certainly help you organize this as well it's a great opportunity to try something different especially if you're thinking about Mission program we're very excited to have a business High skills major and it is now in its second year the business sector is bursting with lots of opportunities whether that be for people who want to run their own business or individual 21 learn more about the business industry itself so I want to encourage students if you're at all interested to look into the business High skills major again a bundling of courses and a co-op opportunity as well how do you get involved in a high skills major it's actually quite simple you can make it guidance appointment but if you know that this is something that you want to do and you already have a lot of these courses then you can simply complete the registration form specific to that high skills major make sure all signed and you can return it to the guidance office and that's it I'd mentioned that Cooperative education is a must if you're going to be involved in a high skills major but for everybody no matter what your eventual pathway is be a great option it's a 2 credit program so I'm half day of school for the semester and you would actually get to go out and work for those credit and how to look at different post-secondary options while you're working Professionals in the in the field I kind of do some networking with them is really good fit for you and it can often lead to part-time employment as well and it also gives you an option for some Hands-On learning in order to get involved with Co-op you simply sign up for co-op during your course selection and then you would have a bit of an interview to call teacher to figure out what you're interested in there's a two-week pre-employment session at the beginning of the course where you do all of your interviewing and applications and then once you're out on your placement your back once a month to do some integration days in the classroom for the rest of the time you're actually out getting hands-on experience not only is the great option for high school's major students but if you're thinking of going into a trade or doing an apprenticeship of some sort the interior youth apprenticeship program is a great option because you can use your Co-op hours toward your eventual apprenticeship hours speak to a car teacher if you're interested not or to your guidance counsellor and there's also a couple of specialty Co-op placement as well there's a military Co-op Navy Co-op and there's Turner ships and experiential learning program program is for students often university-bound that are looking to get involved in research whether that be at a university setting or it's some sort of Institute and it's promoting the science technology engineering math or medicine but not only those there could be other areas as well so this is something that you think you might want to get involved in or obviously your guidance counsellor for those of you specifically looking at the pre health science or the Health and Wellness scales major this course snc 4M is something that you will need to take if you want to be in that type of your planet's graduate with that health and wellness High skills major as a senior student you have the opportunity me to sign up to be part of the student council as well it's a to credit program so you would take gpp 30 as well as tg4m in this fully read program so you are devoting a lot of free time to get involved with student council they do so many things throughout the school so if this is a leadership opportunity that's for you please note that you need to be a senior student in good attendance with a minimum of 75% average this year in your in your marks and there's a 250-word paper detailing why you'd like to be part of the student council that needs to be submitted I'm not sure if the deadline for that but more information will be coming soon and generally speaking they take about 6 but that just depends on the year you are a great way to do that a separate area has a pathway chart but we're bringing to bring to light the math halfway charge here because it's a furniture moving into grade 12 to know which the senior Math credits if any that you need to be taking if you're heading into college the college level math is very much appropriate if you're heading to University however you may want to consider taking University math or in some cases you may need two or more University level math courses so it is very important that you plan with that end goal in mind and you need to take those math course you know which ones they are going to be required to take calculus mcv4u please note that you also need to have taken functions before taking calculus so in many cases you plan to take both functions and calculus in grade 12 functions in semester 1 and calculus being semester to so again it's important when you're planning to take a look at those requirements and make sure that you're making good choices in your car selection in terms of your options for religion in great well you have an open religion option as well as a forums that's been mixed College University stream or there's also philosophy which is a 4 U University level credit in grade 11 there are only three required courses English math and religion outside of that students have a lot of options so we're going to go through a few of those please note that in religion have the option in grade 11 of two hang out at the open level or you can take it at the mix level if you are in the extended French program you'll need to take it at that mixed level at but you're taking the extended friend French code so it would have is that on the end so just be cognizant. if you are in the extended French program you want to make sure that you're taking the the one that ends in m said if you're looking to take an Arts Credit so for those of you who are going into grade 11 who've not yet successfully completed an Arts Credit please make sure that you do pick one and you will need to take that at the grade 10 level when we talked about the Arts the discipline of Arts that includes drama and music and visual arts and even within music it subdivided in instrumental music vocal music and guitar so if you haven't taken at our credit yet and you're going into grade 11 you really do need to consider taking that this coming year we also have a number of business courses accounting entrepreneurship marketing and information communication technology as a discipline we also have travel and tourism this is a horse that's been offered in the past but we did not read it this past year so I just wanted to highlight that and we also have Canadian law clu 3M which is a mix of college and university in the computer studies area students have the opportunity to take computer programming or computer science Cooperative education is also a true credit option so if you are going to take Co-op just note that is two credits English you can take it to University of Louisville the college level or the workplace level we also are going to be offering contemporary voices called and it's focussing on indigenous language and Indigenous studies so if you are interested in this language credit it is nve or Envy depending on whether you want to take that at the college level or the university level in terms of French options for grade 11 we have our core French so that is sort of the regular French or if you're in the extended French program you'd be taking Fe three you so again if you are taking French next year just make sure that you're taking the one that's appropriate for your program in grade 11 there are a number of different health and physical education courses to choose from PA f30 if you female or male this is personal fitness so it really is looking at your own individual Fitness and trying to improve your Fitness level you are doing activities as a group but those activities or things like working out cardio workouts weight training yoga maybe some running things like that so again you're doing it as a group but it really is more about your own personal fitness that we have PPL 30 which is more of a sport space or games based visit if that's something that you're into and then for the first time next year we're going to be offering ppz3c which is called health4life this course is a little bit different from the others while you are still physically moving your body it's about more about your overall health so that includes Mental Health kept stretching on there could be some yoga components to this and other other types of workouts so again it's of course it's just evolving it's new to our school so we're really looking forward to having students try this discourse out for grade 11 we also have a bunch of different math options mcr3u its functions and cf3m is functions and applications and that's a mixed college and university math and the receipt is a college math and then Daniel three is workplace now keep in mind as I mentioned earlier slide in order to graduate you do have to have a minimum of three math credits in high school so that is definitely something that you going to want to take in grade 11 in terms of getting your interior secondary school diploma you really only have to take two Sciences you either need a third science or attack to fulfill what other requirement but many students do choose to continue their Science Education with a grade 11 science so you can choose from biology chemistry and physics all at the University level at 11 you can also take College biology in terms of social sciences and Humanities we have a fashion class agency 3C parenting which is HPC 30 and there are two different options there's a college level and it University level of what off is referred to as the sap class that's a sociology and anthropology psychology course it's really an introduction to the social sciences we also have a number of technological studies courses construction Hospitality or as many kids called which class we have a yearbook class where you're literally making that did the next year's yearbook we have communication technology a lot to do with videography using cameras video editing that sort of thing we also have a photography class which is exactly what it expected to be learning how to take the photographs developed them and so on bills I have green Industries thj is the beginning of the green Industries there's a mixed University College a green Industries there's also in Essentials green Industries so in this case you're working in the greenhouse a lot you're working with plants learning about plant biology there are some aspects of landscape design to this as well so I want to encourage everybody to take a look at these different options as well and if you've never taken one before you do not need a grade nortent in order to start at the great 11 so if you've never taken a communication technology and you'd like to you can start in grade 11 and that's the same with the other Tech areas there are a number of e-learning courses that are available for you can find those under the discipline or subject. In my blueprint but again you can go into my eLearning courses are for next year please keep in mind that these are not supervising Real Time by a teacher you'll be working independently using your own device at the school or possibly at home so please make sure that you had a discussion with your family and also think about your learning style weather in Kieler in class is best for you I mentioned that there are two mandatory he learns for all students moving forward in order to graduate so if you're looking at taking a couple of fully online courses we do have a number of film I'm not going to go to the mall but as I mentioned in the previous slide they are all listed in my blueprint under the E learn discipline so there's offer some students a lot more flexibility in their time table but keep in mind that is your responsibility to stay focus and to make sure that you're online each day attendance is taken regularly and students are expected to be progressing each day in those fully online courses outside of the st. Joe's Catholic High School guidance web page where you can find the course calendar with a description of each course as well as things like the requirements for graduation the types of courses as well as that planner in reaching ahead taking course that maybe you've never taken before or those of you who are behind in credits and need to take a summer school class in order to to get a credit that perhaps you didn't earn earlier there are online course options in print that you can choose for summer school keep in mind that it's the full month of July and that it is fully online I'm told that we are going to offer if you in class opportunities for learning in the summer however I believe that those are going to be in London so I will keep students posted on what's going to be available as far as in class but the majority of our courses are going to be a fully online and available in July keep in mind that you have to be online each day attendance is taken and there's a great deal it's 10 each day because in the month of July you are essentially doing for months worth of regular class work so if you can commit to that if you want to take a summer class just know that you can apply to that through my blueprint through the continuing education we are going to walk students through that when we do our core selection workshops with them in February well you will still be able to sign up for summer school through the ldcsb website an easier way to do it is to go to your mom Prince face go into continuing education and explore the course options some students may be interested in taking a summer school course what's the benefit of a summer school course some students like to get feet wet with a Grade 9 program before they actually begin High School other students went to reach ahead so they have an extra elective or Choice course many of our students do choose to take summer school but this is certainly not something that students have to do keep in mind that summer school runs the month of July so Monday to Friday and it is a completely online asynchronous learning experience if you are interested in signing up you can do so through your my blueprints days you would click on Kik an education you explore courses you're going to click summer school new credit courses and finally selected course that you actually want to take and click submit well you will still be how to sign up for summer school through the ldcsb website on easier way to do it is to go to your my blueprints face go into continuing education and explore the course options you are signing up for a sec class just keep in mind that we are only offering new credit courses so last year and the year before there were some improvement credits that were offered so if you had wanted to bump up your mark a little lower and prove your understanding in a certain subjects are you could take 2 week improvement course those are no longer going to be available so when you go into your myblueprint space you go to continuing education and are exploring those courses you're going to be looking for summer school new credit courses when she found the course that you're looking for you simply hit submit course and that's all there is to it you will be signed up to take summer school course next year be sure that you haven't picked out course in your myblueprint course selection if you are intending to take it in summer school as another years we ask that you choose to Alternative choices in the event that we cannot give you the optional courses that you want the two alternate courses are used in their place by the time most of you get to great wealth you will have earn 24 credits that allows you to take six or more credits to graduate in grade 12 who plan to take a spare please keep in mind that you must have at least 24 credits and be in a position to graduate so again some of you may have already earned 24 credits meeting you only need to take six more credits in order to graduate which potentially could I used to have a study.
